Kies, the taste of happiness

G'day and Welcome to Kies Family Wines. Watch the video above and immerse yourself in the fun and happy times we revel in here at Kies Family Wines.

Kies Family Wines is the first cellar door you will visit as you drive over the hill at the southern end of the Barossa Valley. The 1880's cottage style cellar door is nestled among vineyards and boasts scenes of the glorious rolling Barossa Ranges. You may even see the famous Monkey Nut Tree on top of the range!

The fruit grown by the Kies family (much of it comes from old vines) is of exceptional consistent quality, the end result being fantastic depth of flavour in the wines, which will tantalise your palate and will leave you wanting more of Kies.

Come and visit us at our beautiful bluestone cellar door and meet the friendly and chilled out family and friendly staff. We will share with you our history, our beautiful wines the stories and laughter.

Peruse Tina's tea shop and check out all the gifts and souvenirs or relax with a tea, coffee, cake or a Barossa platter in the cafe absorbing the wonderful atmosphere and taking in the breathtaking views.

Watch out you may even see a glimpse of the wolf!

Woah! Check out these amazing price lists from the very first vintage of Karrawirra wines - what a piece of history! We were so excited to receive this in an email from Peter Wood a long standing Kies customer and fan. It made our day!

Peter sent us the price list and and order form from the first vintage wines from Karrawirra and it was a great little read. Times really have changed in many ways in Kies since 1971. Not only did we sell our beautiful wines back then for 70c a bottle, but you...   [read more]

Bronson has just started university and is studying viticulture and Oenology (all aspects of wine making) and is passing with flying colours! The wine industry is something that Bronson has always had a passion for and it is in his blood, so this next step for Bronson is a natural progression and one that we are all excited for him to be taking. When I asked Bronson about his studying he simply said “its something I feel am destined to do” and he could not be closer to the truth! The future ahead is an...   [read more]

Everyone caught the travel bug at Kies in 2014 and people were jet setting off everywhere! Bronson and Lidija took themselves and a few friends off on a beautiful tropical holiday to Bali where laughs and cocktails were free flowing. They got a wonderful shock when Sam and Kaz (dear friends) surprised them and met them in Bali. Tina and Michael set off for Rome in November and it was one of the best holidays they had ever had. The had a wonderful time exploring Rome and they went a trip to Florence and then...   [read more]

While on holiday  in beautiful Europe, Jordan and Charmaine got engaged! We are all so excited for them here! Before Jordan proposed they spent a dream romantic day in Paris, first by taking a Ferris wheel ride over looking all of Paris, then they shared a bottle of exquisite French champagne in front of the Louvre and  they topped it off with a romantic dinner for two at Kong, a glassed ceiling and walled restaurant. They then headed back to their hotel and Jordan proposed, Charmaine cried for about ten minutes and we are pretty...   [read more]
