A tribute to a dear friend Asha Woods
On the 19th of February, our dear friend and long time staff member Asha Woods (20) passed away in a car accident on the way to work. We would like to pass on our condolences to all of her friends and family. Her happy, smiley nature has been and will forever be sorely missed.

Release of the 2006 Dedication Shiraz
The new Dedication Shiraz is a real beauty and although it has only been bottled very recently, it shows signs of challenging the 2002 vintage for complexity and quality. RRP $45.
CHAFF MILL CABERNET SAUVIGNON ACHIEVES 94 POINTS IN HALLIDAY
We are mainly known for our exceptional Shiraz, but this year it has been the Cabernet which has been the high achiever. First 94 points in James Halliday’s 2010 Australian Wine Companion, now a Silver at the New Zealand International Wine Challenge.
HATRICK FOR KIES BIG REDS IN NEW ZEALAND…
What a fantastic achievement… The Monkey Nut Tree Merlot, Chaff Mill Cabernet Sauvignon and new release Klauber Block Shiraz have all achieved Silver medals at the New Zealand International Wine Show. The Monkey Nut Tree scored 17.8 out of 20 which was .01 away from a Gold. We have also gained interest from a new distributor in Auckland, New Zealand which is a really pleasant coincidence. Hopefully we can continue to do well both in New Zealand and Australia!!!
Excellent Review for Klauber Block in The Advertiser (16.09.2009)
Tony Love from The Advertiser awarded the 2005 Klauber Block 93 points, stating “there is a wonderful sense of rich, plummy fruit, wearing a well-designed oak coat, here with coconut rough chocolate notes followed by ripe flavours with a quirky nutmeggy, pandan leaf edge. Fine Shiraz at an attratcive price”… ($25) A wine from a noted Clare Valley producer retails for $250 per bottle and received the same score… The KlauberBlock is definitely value for money… DEDICATION SHIRAZ VINYARD RE-VAMP The Dedication Shiraz Vineyard has seen some tender love and care over the winter. These unruly old vines were causing trouble for pickers and pruners, and whilst the quality of fruit from this vineyard has always been exceptional, the yields were beginning to decrease.
So the vines have been re-trellised, just before bud burst and the vineyard is looking superb, Well done to Michal Kies Viticulturalist and Euan Murray Vineyard Manager.
Congratulations Jo!
Kies winemaker Joanne Irvine has been dubbed "Red Winemaker of the Year" by the 2006 International Wine Challenge. A fabulous accolade for Joanne whose extensive wine knowledge is a great asset for the Kies family.
She was also awarded best winemaker in the Barossa Valley 2009 by the Barons of the Barossa.
